This is an exciting time in the Marion Independent School District for performing arts, athletics and academics. Seven students made all-state music and six athletic teams qualified for state last school year. Updated science and social studies curriculum is under development, opportunities for career and technical education are expanding, and the district has a renewed focus on professional development for teachers. The district also recently celebrated the opening of Longfellow Elementary School. The ability for students to compete at a high level in safe, accessible facilities that reflect the hard work they put in is an essential part of Marion’s extra-curricular and educational experience.
The Marion community collaborates to provide many opportunities for our youth, and this facilities project is one way we can support our students and our schools. The scope of projects that make up the Marion Builds Opportunity campaign will benefit students for years to come. We invite you to consider the impact Marion has had on your life and the vital role our schools and our youth play in providing for a successful future. Gifts will be unique to each person’s circumstance, but we can only accomplish this vision if we work together as a community.
